Financial Aid Award Notification
You will be notified by e-mail
of the awards you are eligible to receive after you have submitted your
FAFSA. The
expected dates for Award Notification emails for
on-time applicants
are noted on the
calendar. Emails will be sent to the student's RU email address.
You must go to the
MY RU and
log in to accept/ decline your awards and complete all requirements such
as promissory notes.
Your award package is developed according
to federal, state, and institutional regulations to help meet your
financial need. The amounts listed under the Fall and Spring columns on
your Award Notification Letter are the awards offered to you to help
meet costs. Any summer amounts that appear on the award letter refer to
the Second Summer term last summer. Financial aid is NOT
automatically renewable from one year to the next. Students applying for
the 2010-2011 academic year should receive their 2010-2011 Renewal
notification from the federal processor in
December 2009. Renewal applications are accessible to students beginning
January 1, 2010 on the fafsa.ed.gov web site.
Radford University reserves the right to
adjust or cancel financial aid awards based on changes in eligibility,
funding deficits, enrollment changes, etc.
ACCEPTING, REVISING, OR REJECTING YOUR
AWARD
You will need to accept, adjust, or
decline your award on the MY RU website. Follow instructions on MY
RU. It will step you through all required screens to accept your
award. If you
have received scholarships, stipends, or other aid/awards that are not
listed on the award tab (in MY RU), you will be asked to list these in
MY RU. If you receive an award after you have accepted your
awards, please list them on a separate sheet of paper and return or
email the information to us. Your award letter
requires you to inform us of money or aid you receive but is not listed
on your award notification. If you receive money from other sources at
any time during the year, we may have to reduce your awards at that
time.
The award acceptance process on MY RU also includes a
request for
you to let us know from which lender that you want to borrow
your Federal Stafford Loan. You will also need to sign your
promissory note for that lender on the following website:
http://finaid.asp.radford.edu/stafmpn.html (for 2009-10). If
you have not already done so, you will also need to complete an Entrance
Interview if you are accepting your Federal Stafford Loan at:
http://finaid.asp.radford.edu/entr.html
ESTIMATED AWARDS / REVISED AWARDS
Your awards that are listed on MY RU
shows your current offer of aid. If changes are made to your
award, you will receive an email at your RU email address requesting
that you review your awards on MY RU.
