AWARD NOTIFICATION MEMORANDUM - COST AND FINANCIAL AID
HOW MUCH OF THE COST DOES YOUR FINANCIAL AID COVER
Compare the total amount of financial aid that you have been awarded to the cost information located at http://finaid.asp.radford.edu/ugcost.html for undergraduate students (http://finaid.asp.radford.edu/grcost.html for graduate costs.
Remember that work awards cannot be paid toward tuition, fees, room, board, or books. Work is earned during the semester and may be used for personal costs or travel expenses. Your initial expense will be tuition, fees, room, board, and books.
If financial aid awards are not enough to cover expenses, additional funds may be needed. Families may want to look into Alternative Loan Programs, the Highlander Choice Tuition Payment Plan, or the PLUS (Parent Loan) program for additional ways to pay remaining costs. If parents are denied PLUS Loan funds, students may borrow additional amounts of unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan. To document the PLUS denial and request the additional unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan, you will need to send a copy of the PLUS denial and complete the additional loan request form.
