Introduction
Often students hesitate to make a
commitment to attend college because they fear that they or their
parents cannot afford the cost. We at Radford feel that no qualified
student should be denied the opportunity for a college education because
of financial need. We encourage you to explore the many avenues open for
financial aid, and we pledge to work with you in any way we can be of
assistance. Last year, the university provided some form of financial
aid to more than 65 percent of its full-time students.
This web site will acquaint you with the
financial aid programs available to Radford students and the procedures
for applying for such aid. We encourage you to study this information
carefully because it is important that you understand the programs for
which you are applying and what they require of you and your family. We
also ask you to note that, because financial aid programs are regulated
by a variety of federal, state and local agencies, changes in the laws
may alter the guidelines governing financial aid assistance. If you have
questions, or need additional information, please feel free to contact
the Financial Aid Office. We are on the second floor of Heth Hall,
open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, telephone (540)
831-5408. Students can find out the status of their application,
documents that are missing from their application, and awards that have
been offered to them by using the
Radford
University Student Information System (MY RU).
The RU undergraduate
"Financial Aid
Information " booklet and the
RU graduate
" Financial
Aid Information" booklet are available and can be
downloaded from this
site beginning early Spring 2010.
