Nondegree Seeking Student Certification for Prerequisite courses

Students who have not been admitted into a degree program at Radford University are not eligible for financial aid; however, there are two exceptions. The criteria for eligibility as a nondegree-seeking student are Teacher Certification or prerequisite classes. There is limited financial aid available for students in this category, primarily Federal Stafford Loan. If you feel that you fit the prerequisite classes category (as described below), please have your Radford University Academic Advisor or Department Chairperson complete the appropriate section below.
 

PREREQUISITE COURSES

If the student is enrolled in prerequisite coursework required for entrance into a degree program at Radford University, he/she may be eligible to borrow under the Federal Stafford Loan program. Students under this exception are eligible to borrow for only a one-year period. Students taking prerequisite courses for entrance into an undergraduate program are NOT eligible for financial aid.  Students taking prerequisite courses for entrance into a graduate degree program may borrow no more than $5,500 subsidized Federal Stafford Loan and, if an independent student, no more than $5,000 unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan (amounts can total no more than the student's undergraduate/graduate cost of attendance). The undergraduate total debt limits apply to borrowers in this category.
