Verification
The review and verification of a student's
application for financial aid is required by law. When income documents
are compared to reported FAFSA information, changes to the student's
eligibility for financial aid awards may result. Families should
complete the FAFSA carefully.
Radford University began participation in
the U.S. Department of Education's Quality Assurance Program with the
2000-2001 academic year.
The review of particular items, such as
estimated tax information, number in household/college, etc., will be
requested and reviewed throughout the year. Parents and students must
return the items requested within 30 days. If requested items are not
received within 30 days, financial aid awards will be canceled.
It is very important to report accurate
information on the FAFSA. Keep copies of all tax documents submitted to
the IRS. If matches do not occur, you will be asked to submit
appropriate documents to the Financial Aid Office.
Important things to
remember:
- When
completing forms, complete all information accurately and legibly.
Make sure that all signatures are included on the form.
- Read
directions carefully and follow them.
- If you are
filing your FAFSA based on estimated income, be prepared to submit
copies of tax forms later to the Financial Aid Office.
- If tax returns
are requested, make sure that all pages (including schedules) of the
tax return are sent to the Financial Aid Office.
- Answer all
requests for information immediately.
