Student Responsibilities
Welcome to the Student Employment
Program!!!.
Your job provides vital service to
Radford University and the community. You are joining more than 1,000
students who are employed on campus and in the community through this
work program. Your work position will help you establish a valuable
work record as well as references that you can use on your resume.
When you obtains a work position, the
work acceptance agreement and other paperwork is mailed to your
supervisor if you are eligible to work on the program. You must
complete all paperwork and return it to the Financial Aid Office.
You may not begin work until you have signed and
returned this paperwork to the financial aid office.
Time Cards and Paychecks
A schedule of the dates for submission of
time cards to the Payroll Office and disbursement of checks to students
is posted on the work calendar. Timecards must
be at the designated drop off point before 10:00 A.M. If the time card
is not submitted by the date indicated, the student will not receive a
check on the corresponding disbursement date. It is the student's
responsibility to obtain the monthly time card from the supervisor,
verify the hours worked and sign the time card. If the student does not
receive a time card by the day prior to the Payroll Office due date,
please contact your supervisor. Late timecards must be delivered
directly to the Payroll Office. Timecards should not be mailed.
Students are not allowed to deliver time cards to the Payroll Office.
If a student is asked to do so, the cards must be in a sealed envelope
with the supervisor's signature across the seal.
Your responsibilities:
Complete all applications for the
student employment program.
Secure a job by contacting
supervisors.
Complete all paperwork required for
employment.
Turn in your time card on or before
the posted dates.
Perform all work to the best of your
ability. Remember, your are establishing a work history that will
be valuable to you in the future.
Evaluation of Job Performance
Because the work program is very
important, supervisors are required to complete evaluation forms on each
of their student workers. These evaluations are done at the time of
termination and at the end of the award period. They will become part
of the students' permanent records and are used as a reference for
future placements or employer inquiries.
If you have questions or problems, please
contact Jerry Lester,
Assistant Director of Financial Aid.
