Summer Financial Aid
Applications will be available online and in the Financial Aid Office in
late January.
Beginning Summer 2010,
RU will no longer be participating in the FFELP Stafford Loan program.
We will be moving into the Federal Direct Stafford Loan program.
ALL students will be
required to complete new Master
Promissory Notes with the Direct Stafford Loan program if your are
borrowing Federal Direct Stafford Loan funds. (If you receive a
message when you go to this site about website security certificate,
click on "Continue to website".
Students who would
like to borrow from the Federal Direct Stafford Loan program must have eligibility
remaining from the prior year. FFELP Stafford loans are included
in the calculation for remaining Federal Direct Stafford Loan
eligibility.
Students may not have
already borrowed the maximum loan amount during the previous Fall and
Spring semester.
Students interested in Summer Financial Aid must complete a separate
Summer Financial Aid Application by
March 1, 2010.
The form is available on-line through the student's
MY RU
account.
To receive Summer
Financial Aid undergraduate students
must enroll in
at least six credits at Radford
University.
Graduate students must enroll in
at least five credits at Radford University.
You
must have filed a 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA)
and finalized this application. Your eligibility will be based on that FAFSA.
Satisfactory Academic Progress will be checked after
Spring 2010 grades are posted (for students enrolled at Radford
University). If summer financial aid is awarded to a student who is not
making progress after spring grades are reviewed, their financial aid
will be cancelled. An appeals process is available. View the policy at

Summer eligibility
WILL NOT be determined until you are
registered for the credit hours
that you reported on your Summer application in the terms that you
indicated. If you need to adjust
your hours, you must complete a Change of hours form.
Limited funds are available during the summer. Normally
students will receive a Federal Direct Stafford Loan and a Pell grant if eligible.
Students may only borrow Federal Direct Stafford loan funds if they have remaining
eligibility from the prior Fall and Spring semester (including amounts
borrowed through the FFELP Stafford Loan program.
