HIRING PROCEDURES

Supervisors should request financial aid to post their available open positions on the web, please e-mail the information you would like posted to Jerry at jlester2@radford.edu or to finaid@radford.edu, your information will be posted on the financial aid website, students searching for work positions can then click the find student employment link and can view the positions posted. Financial aid will remove your posting at your request and can repost  anytime at you request.

Students interested in work study should contact you concerning work positions. If you find a student you wish to hire, you may send the" Student Assistant Request Form" to the Financial Aid Office. We will determine the students eligibility and issue contracts for those eligible. Contracts may only be issued by the Financial Aid Office.  If you want to speed up this process, you may want to e-mail or fax the request to the Financial Aid Office .When contracts are ready, they will be mailed to the supervisor via campus mail, or you may make arrangements to pick up the contracts.

Students who have not applied for or who are not eligible for need-based financial aid can only be hired into work positions if institutional funds are available and the supervisor is unable to find an eligible student.

The three-part acceptance form (Contract)  includes the students name, date to report, number of hours to be worked, and the conditions of employment.  The supervisor should have the form in-hand before the student may begin to work. The student should submit to the supervisor,  a copy of his/her class schedule. The supervisor and student should retain a copy of the form and return the top copy to the Financial Aid Office.

Remember that no student may start working until the contract is signed and returned to the Financial Aid Office.
